Truck Company Operations: Vertical Ventilation
|
|
Students will have the opportunity to practice vertical ventilation techniques
on different types of roofs, using props and acquired structures. Students
will use: hand tools, power tools, and working from ladders. Students will be taught how to work as a team when performing vertical ventilation. Intense hands-on training on pitched roofs, flat roofs, and metal roofs.

Truck Company Operations: Forcible Entry
|
|
Anytime during a commercial or residential fire you may be confronted with unique challenges attempting to enter or exit today's modern structures. This class will demonstrate what storeowners and homeowners are doing to keep burglars out, but increasing the difficulty for firefighter's quick entry or exit to be nearly impossible. Topics include size-up, firefighter safety, basic building construction, tool selection, and intense "hands-on" training using realistic props including metal and wood doors, security bars, garage doors, windows, pad locks, and more.

| Down Firefighter Rescue
|
|
This class is both mentally and physically challenging. Students will participate in several real-life rescue scenarios. Topics include: case studies, Denver Drill, Nance Drill, search techniques, drags & carries, entanglement emergencies, wall breaching, window rescues using ladders, below grade rescues using hose lines, ropes and hand tools. Participants should be in good physical condition.

| Firefighter Survival

This class is designed to give "YOU" the down firefighter the survival techniques needed to manage your own fireground emergency in the event you should become disoriented or trapped in a fire situation. Topics include: personal tools, self-rescue techniques, wall breaching, entanglement & disorientation emergencies, air management, bail-outs using hose lines, rope and personal escape packs. Participants should be in good physical condition.

| Turnouts in Water
|
|
Have you ever asked yourself what would happen if you unexpectedly fell into deep water wearing turnouts and SCBA? Am I going to sink, will I float, will my SCBA still function? This class will answer these questions and more. Topics covered are case studies, hazard areas, body positions, air pockets, SCBA's, weight before and after immersion, and it will close with a live demonstration with firefighters wearing turnouts in water.

| Thermal Imaging

This program will provide you with the knowledge needed to properly interpret an image produced by a thermal imager. Topics include: Search, size-up, accountability, body recovery, avoiding common pitfalls, and various technologies and how they work. Hands on training and practical excercises will be conducted under live fire conditions using thermal imaging cameras provided by several manufacturers.
